Description
This antique canning jar was made by the Kerr company and is a special wide mouth fruit jar. The logo is large and showy and the jar itself is thick, heavy glass. The jars are quart sized and measure 7″ tall. They are all clear. This listing is for a jar with a zinc lid.
The embossing on the jar reads “Kerr “Self Sealing” Trademark Reg. Wide Mouth Mason” and the base says “Kerr Glass Mfg. Co. Sand Springs, Okla. Pat. Aug. 31, 1915.” The jars will all have the exact same embossing as described and pictured in the photos above.
These vintage jars make wonderful vases for your bouquets, great soap dispensers, and quaint sugar, flour, and coffee canisters. Or simply set them in a group on a sunny window sill and enjoy the show as the sun shimmers through them.
They bring back memories of days gone by. I know some people are still using these for canning.
